Bali, Indonesia – 20 March, 2025 – Tipi Jabrik’s Grom Patrol Surf Series, created by the Asian Surf Cooperative (ASC) in 2019, is set to reach new heights in 2025 as it expands across Asia, bringing more opportunities for young surfers to compete, learn, and grow. The series will culminate in an epic Grand Final at Kuta Beach, Bali, in August 2025.
Now entering its seventh season, Grom Patrol is evolving into a comprehensive junior surf circuit, with multiple locations across the Asian region hosting their own events. This expansion ensures that young surfers can develop their skills on home soil before competing on an international stage in Bali.

“The goal of Grom Patrol has always been to nurture young talent and grow the sport of surfing across Asia,” said Tipi Jabrik, founder of Grom Patrol and the ASC. “With this 2025 expansion, we’re making it easier for each country to host its own event, and we’re excited to welcome new regions into the series.

Grom Patrol Expands Across Asia
In 2024, Grom Patrol held its first international event in Khao Lak, Thailand, marking a major milestone for the series. With its success, Grom Patrol Thailand is confirmed to return on May 30-31, 2025.

Meanwhile, India has officially joined the circuit, with two Grom Patrol events planned:
🌊 Mangalore (West Coast) – 24-28 May 2025 (waiting period)
🌊 Covelong (East Coast) – 10-15 July 2025 (waiting period)
These events have been made possible through the unwavering support of Arun Vasu, who has played an integral part in growing surfing in India by sponsoring athletes and events for over a decade. He is the founder of Surf Turf in Covelong and is also the president of the Surfing Federation of India.
“I am excited to bring the Grom Patrol to India with two stops (Mangalore and Covelong)” said Vasu. “It’s a great program to get more youngsters into the competitive side of surfing in a disciplined and structured environment. Hosting our own Grom Patrol events gives our kids the opportunity to progress and earn a trip to Bali in August, where they can meet and compete with the best young surfers in Asia.”
To further enhance junior surfing development, the newly launched Asian Surf Performance Academy (ASPA) will be available to provide professional coaching and training in conjunction with Grom Patrol events.

The Pathway to Bali: 2025 Grom Patrol Grand Final

Grom Patrol’s Growing Reach
“This series is more than just a competition—it’s a place where young surfers can learn, grow, and thrive,” added Jabrik. “It’s a unique platform where surfing talent meets education, environmental awareness, and a strong sense of community.”
